Reggae Boyz defender‘s injury not serious

PRESTON: Jamaica international defender Claude Davis has returned to training with Preston North End after fears he had damaged ankle ligaments were proved incorrect, the PNE web site has reported. After Sunday’s draw with Crewe Alexandra, manager Craig Brown told pne.com that Davis could be in doubt for the weekend after injuring his ankle in a first half incident, but when the players returned on Tuesday morning the big central defender was okay.

PNE physio Andrew Balderston told the official web site Tuesday: “It was just a bang and Claude trained today without any reaction. We will monitor him again tomorrow but he should be fine”. The positive report on Davis eases Brown’s defensive worries ahead of the weekend with Marlon Broomes, Rob Edwards, and Lee Briscoe definitely ruled out of the FA Cup clash with Reading tomorrow. The match offers another opportunity for in form Jamaican forward Ricardo Fuller to increase his scoring tally this season for Preston. The Reading roster includes Jamaican Under-23 international Omar Daley and Bermuda’s veteran Shaun Goater.
