$25,000 FIFA gift for women
TRINIDAD and Tobago women footballers have received a $25,000 FIFA gift. FIFA vice-president Jack Warner handed over the present of Adidas uniforms, football boots, balls, training bibs and travel bags at the Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Tunapuna.
Last November, Warner initiated the first-ever FIFA women football workshop at the same venue, when FIFA instructor and England national coach Hope Powell headed the workshop. And because of this, FIFA agreed to make the donation of the Adidas equipment to Trinidad and Tobago. The senior national women team will be in action in Costa Rica at the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying series. This qualifying tournament takes place between February 25 and March 7, while their Under-19 sisters are also gearing for action also in February.
