Concrete blocks go metric!
Bestcrete becomes the first blockmaker in Trinidad and Tobago to make the Metric switch. As part of its recently completed upgrade, Bestcrete introduces the Metric masonry block. This is the first time since the Metrification Act of 1978 that building blocks are being manufactured locally to specific metric dimensions. The building industry has in fact a long tradition of metrification. But in the absence of building materials made to very precise metric dimensions, local Architects and engineers have had to resort to the tedious task of calculating and converting from the old imperial standard into metric. Thanks to Bestcrete, this process has become a thing of the past.
Made with the patented AFC SmartPack Vibration technology on the newly acquired, ultra-modern Besser Superpac, the Metric block is a better-compacted block with larger, better-defined core spaces ideal for concrete and steel reinforcement. The Metric block is also lighter in weight and less water absorbent than the competition. The result is a thoroughly modern block designed to suit your every construction need. The Bestcrete Metric block is also the subject of regular independent testing at CARIRI and is proven to exceed the international standards set by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM). The blocks are rigorously tested for acceptable standards of strength and water absorption as set by standards ASTM C140-95a and ASTM C90-95.
Aside from a quality product, Bestcrete also promises reliability of supply with a total capacity in excess of 100,000 blocks per day - the largest in the English-speaking Caribbean. Bestcrete is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company.
