Crimson Tower stretches out nicely

Crimson Tower stole the spotlight on the gallops course at Santa Rosa Park, Arima yesterday morning posting 1:04.4 seconds for her solo spin over 1000 metres. The four-year-old chestnut from the small string of Terrance Bates opened up from the 1000 marker in the backstretch and maintained a steady clip passing the winning pole where he was timed. She continued her run before being eased approaching her starting point. Ballybunion came out minutes after the course was opened. The five-year-old chestnut looked a picture and seemed to enjoy the light preparation given, pacing the last 600 metres of the sand course in 44.1 seconds.

Give Me Something was unraced as a juvenile but seems to be going the right way. The Edmund De Freitas showed she had learnt a great deal, holding on well in her spin with the older Strawberry Hill for 800 metres in 54.8 seconds. Second Chances, and Toronto Star and Lantern Lady were noted stepping up their paces. Second Chances produced 52.5 seconds on the clock for 800 metres, where Toronto Star and Lantern Lady managed 53.3.
