Point residents gets Atlantic break

More Point Fortin residents are expected to become employed during the year as a result of the Atlantic LNG Train IV construction project. At present, in excess of  937 persons or more than half of the current labour force on the project come from the Point Fortin area. Some 198 persons are employed by the Raghunath Singh Company Limited in the placement of concrete in the process area and the elevated compressor deck.

Dywidag-MCE has 114 persons working on pile driving and pre-fabrication of the form and platforms for the tank wall. To date, the Train 4 project has worked over 1,334,264 safe hours and activity in this preparatory stage of the project continues apace. Pres-T-Con completed the test piles and started to drive piles for the second jetty. Boskalis Westminster continues its dredging works and Hafeez Karamath Ltd has completed the Compressor Control Building and plans to begin work soon on the Propane Condenser Substation. Contracts for painting, electrical and instrumentation, as well as mechanical/piping contracts are expected to be awarded this year.
