Regent Boy best on a slow day at Arima

REGENT BOY sparkled on a morning when trainers again took things easy with their charges at the gallops at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday.

The five-year-old stepped over 1000 metres in the good time of 1:07.2 seconds, the best of the day. Most horses did pace work, but the trainers are expected to step up the tempo this morning as they prepare for the first Saturday’s card. Among those seen out yesterday was surprise St Ann’s Stakes winner Trini To D Bone, who looked quite keen in her 400 metres completed in 29.9 seconds. Another to look very lively was speedy Euro Star who was timed in 28.3 seconds over the same trip. The best run over 600 metres came from Entertainer who was timed in 39.6 seconds for the distance.
