‘Fyzo’ whip Sando East in schools n-ball

FYZABAD Composite outclassed San Fernando East Junior Secondary 33-14 when action in the British Gas Secondary Schools Netball League national finals shifted to the Point Fortin Indoor Arena. Goal-shoot Genniel Quashie scored 15 of her 24 attempts and goal-attack Cindy Collins 18 of 25 for “Fyzo” the South West zone champs, who led 11-4, 14-8, 23-11 at the three intervals in Wednesday’s game.

Ramona Noel scored two goals and Nika Fiddler got 12 for South East zone runners-up Sando East in the Group B match. In Group A, Cedros Composite, South West runners-up, edged South East zone winners Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive 17-14. The Cedros girls led all the way in the low-scoring game 5-3; 10-8; 14-12 at the quarter stages. Karen Phillip led Cedros with 14 goals from 21 attempts while goal-attack Giselle Noel had three from eight. Goal-attack Eliasha Bass netted nine of her 18 attempts and goal-shoot Arleena Archer five of 10. Action shifts to the Chaguanas Regional Indoor Sports Arena today, when Mucurapo Junior Secondary (North) take on Holy Faith Convent (Central) in Group A, and Diego Martin Junior Secondary (North) meet Carapichaima Senior Comprehensive (Central) in Group B.  First pass is at 1 pm.
