$10,000 BAS cricket series
OVER $10,000 in prize money will be at stake in the inaugural BAS Island-wide cricket series. The 30-overs competition has attracted 32 teams, with the finals to be played under floodlights at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, South Trinidad. Action in the series is planned to bowl off shortly after the Carnival season. Winners will receive $5,000 in cash along with trophies, while the runners-up get $2,500. This tournament is being organised by Unique Books and Sports Centre, sole agents for BAS cricket products. Teams will pay $250 for the registration of 15 players. Deadline for registration is February 21, and competition is scheduled to begin seven days later.
