Pleasantville cruise over Holy Faith

SOUTH EAST champs Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive cruised to a comfortable 34-9 victory over Holy Faith Convent (Central) in their Group “A” match in the British Gas Secondary Schools Netball League at Pleasantville Indoor Facility yesterday.

The outcome was never in doubt after the opening quarter which Pleasantville led 9-0.  They extended their advantage to 17-2 at the half and 24-6 by the end of the three-quarter stanza. Goal-shoot Arleen Archer had 18 goals from 28 attempts and goal-attack Elisha Babb, 16 of 24, for the Southerners. Andrea Kinsale got seven goals from 16 attempts and Keverne Hunte, two of six, for Holy Faith. But the Central runners-up Carapichaima failed to turn up for their Group “B” match against Fyzabad Composite who were awarded the points. Action resumes at the Arima Enclosure court on Monday when Toco Composite (East) take on Success/Laventille Composite (North) and Sangre Grande Educational Institute, the Eastern queens meet defending national and North champs Mucurapo Senior Comprehensive. Play begins at 1 pm.
