Police Commissioner: Too many police officers leaving

Police Commissioner Everald Snaggs lamented that the number of police officers leaving the service to go abroad, remains too high. The statement was made yesterday by the Police Commissioner as he addressed the second batch of Special Reserve Police officers at their Passing Out ceremony.

According to Snaggs, “The police service is exasperated by the number of officers leaving the  service for greener pastures.” Snaggs called on the 180 recruits to work well together to put a halt to growing fears of officers already in the service. In congratulating the new set of SRPs Commissioner Snaggs noted the first phase of Project SRP 1000 has indeed been a success. Snaggs said, “Special Reserve officers continue to perform under extreme conditions and make high marks. Since the inception of Project SRP 1000, there have been fewer robberies, and citizens have openly expressed how much safer they feel with the higher police presence. People are pleased with the enthusiasm and professionalism displayed by the SRPs.”
