San Juan dad drowns in Balandra

A 34-year-old man drowned while bathing at Balandra Beach on Saturday.

His body was washed ashore at Balandra Bay on Sunday morning.
Reports revealed that around 4 pm on Saturday, Lynroy Beckles of Shande Street, San Juan, who was involved in a clean-up exercise at the beach drowned around 4 pm. Reports revealed that Beckles entered the waters on the treacherous side of Balandra Bay and got into difficulty.

One of his colleagues attempted to save him and got into difficulties.
He was rescued by four life guards on duty who took the injured man to the Sangre Grande Hospital. He was transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. Beckles was employed as an equipment handler with K and R Contractors Company Ltd. He was the father of two ages eight and three.
