WI Players Association look at Guyana ‘dust up’

THE West Indies Players Association have ordered an investigation into an alleged incident involving two senior Guyanese cricketers. A news release from the WIPA yesterday indicated they had instructed representative Neil McGarrell, who is also the Guyana captain, to further investigate the incident and provide a report.

WIPA president Dinanath Ramnarine in a statement said, his organisation is concerned about discipline among members and are working on a Code of Ethics and Discipline binding all cricketers. But he said, WIPA want to ensure members are treated fairly and not discriminated against in any way. According to Ramnarine, following receipt of McGarrell’s report, his executive will review the situation objectively and take whatever action it deems necessary.
