Police handcuff Bermudez netballers
GUSHIER GRANT was the star of the show on Tuesday night, leading Police to a 55-49 victory over Bermudez in the Alternative Division of the All Sectors Netball League. The sprinkling of fans who turned up at the Eastern Regional Indoor Facility, Tacarigua were treated to a remarkable display of shooting from goal-shoot Grant, who connected on 52 out of 60 attempts. Goal-attack Shivaughn Skeete added three from eight for the policewomen, who led 12-8, 24-17 and 38-32 after the respective three intervals.
Cheryl-Ann Warren registered 26 goals from only 29 tries at the hoop, while goal-attacks Julie Britto made 18 from 22 and Hillary Noel five from nine. The other match of the evening saw Civilians Conservation Corps hold off Cavaliers 35-33. Goal-attack Melissa Roberts netted 23 from 35 and Beverly Roberts got 12 from 16 for the winners. Michelle Boyce (19 from 35), Simone Peters (13 from 19) and Erica Job (one from five) were on target for Cavaliers, who trailed 13-10 after the first quarter, 22-17 at the half or 29-22 at the third.
