St George East win n-ball parade

ST GEORGE East took home the top prize in the march past of national teams in the 2004 St George East Education District Primary Schools opening yesterday. This was held along with the launch of the National Primary Schools Netball League at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua.

The hosts, decorated in blue and white, defeated the lasses from sister isle Tobago, who impressed in their maroon and white outfits. Port-of-Spain and Environs, sporting the national colours (red, white and black) were third and North Eastern (gold and green) came fourth. Also participating in the march past were the individual district teams, with Tunapuna Anglican getting the judges’ nod ahead of San Juan Girls RC and joint third-placed teams Malabar Government and Barataria Anglican. Member of Parliament for Tunapuna and resident of the area Eddie Hart declared the season open. Matches are due to jump off in April.
