Teen killed in car crash

A 19-year-old youth is the country’s latest road fatality. Dead is Shervonne Kerr, who lost control of the car which he was driving, causing it to slam into a wall in the Petit Bourg area early Tuesday morning. According to reports, Kerr, of Barataria, was traveling in a westerly direction when the car which he was driving ran into a wall near Calendar Hardware on the Eastern Main Road. Reports indicate that the car flipped several times before landing on its side. Kerr, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, died on the spot.

Kerr would have celebrated his 20th birthday on April 14. District Medical Officer Iqbal Ackbar visited the scene. Officers of the Port-of-Spain Traffic Branch also visited the scene of the accident and Cpl Jacobs is continuing the investigation.
