Lecturer’s murder puzzles police

Robbery has been ruled out a possible motive for the murder of as 44-year-old lecturer at the Valsayn Teacher’s College, who was found dead at his Orchard Gardens home late Friday evening. The decomposing body of Keith Chadee was discovered by police officers who were alerted to a foul stench emanating from the Math lecturer’s home. Officers said they believed Chadee was dead for about two days. When Sunday Newsday visited the home of the deceased yesterday, investigating officers who were still on the scene searching for clues, said all of the lecturer’s belongings, including jewelry, money, his Primera car and household items, were all intact. They said Chadee, who lived alone, was found lying face up in the television room of the house.

Grieving relatives could offer no explanation as to why anyone would want to kill a man whom they said, troubled no one. Sister-in-law of the deceased, Zorida Chadee, said they were informed of Chadee’s death by police officers. She explained that her brother-in-law’s death has left the entire family in shock, as he lived a very peaceful life. “Keith was a very religious man, who was very active in the Presbyterian church. He would always give of himself, and was also very quiet. His death has even left his students of the teacher’s college, in utter disbelief.” While officers dusted Chadee’s car for fingerprints, one of Chadee’s students, Pamela Joseph passed by to pay her respects to the Chadee family. While speaking to Chadee’s relatives, Joseph broke into tears, saying she never expected the type of death he met. “The last class he had with us was on Tuesday and he seemed very normal to me.

He was even supposed to have classes with us on Thursday, but he never showed. I just thought maybe he was sick or something, as he was never the type to miss class. This really hit me hard.” No one could say whether Chadee had regular visitors to his home. “All I could tell you is that he was a very quiet man. Extremely quiet. He had no wife, and never fathered any children. That’s all I can tell you.” An autopsy would be performed on Chadee’s body tomorrow. Meanwhile, Cpl Agulera, assisted by Cpl Cudjoe and other officers, are all continuing investigations.
