Harvard to honour recovering pannists

HARVARD CLUB will present awards to pan icons Len “Boogsie” Sharpe of Petrotrin Phase II and Excellent Stores Silver Stars’ Edwin Pouchet on Carnival Sunday. The presentation will take place at the Club’s Roxy Roundabout venue, where its annual Steel Fiesta III is scheduled to start at 1 pm.

Harvard’s management and members decided to present the awards as a token of appreciation to the duo, who recently had surgery and are both back arranging for their respective steelbands. Both bands have been friendly neighbours of the club over the years and at Pan Fiesta III, Silver Stars will be one of the featured bands, along with BWIA Invaders, Angostura Woodbrook Playboyz, Woodbrook Modernaires and resident steelband, Harvard Harps.
