Arima man charged with Ash Wednesday murder
A 32-year-old Arima man appeared before Arima First Court Magistrate Gloria Jasmath yesterday charged with the murder of O’Neil Maloney early Ash Wednesday morning. The Arima suspect will reappear in court on March 11. Maloney, 29, was fatally stabbed seven times in his back and once in his chest on Thursday (after Carnival) morning along a riverside in some bushes on Chadee Lands behind the Arima Senior Comprehensive secondary school.
In an unrelated matter, investigators in the murder of Bishop Anstey High-school girl Kamilah Townsend, 16, whose decomposed body was found with multiple stab wounds and a bullet hole in her head by a river at the Heights of Guanapo two weeks ago are leaving no stone unturned and expect to make an arrest soon.
