2 injured during nightclub robbery
Two people were seriously injured following a robbery at a popular night spot in Central Trinidad early Wednesday morning. According to reports, the two injured men were patrons of a strip club in Chaguanas. Armed bandits stormed the nightclub around 2 am, demanding cash and jewelry from the patrons. Two of the patrons who resisted the attack were chopped about the body by the men.
Before fleeing the scene, the bandits robbed the injured men of cash and jewelry. With the help of other persons in the club, the injured men were taken to the Chaguanas medical facility. They were later transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. One of the two injured men was treated and discharged, but a Barataria man remains warded. Officers of the Freeport Police Station who visited the crime scene held one of the two suspects. Investigations are continuing.
