Central cops arrest rape suspect

A 27-year-old man of Chancery Street, Chaguanas will appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate today to answer a charge of raping a 26-year old woman. The victim reported to the Chaguanas Police that around 8 pm on Friday, she was walking along Main Road, Chaguanas, when she was confronted by a man with a rasta hairstyle.

The woman claimed that the man placed his hands over her mouth and told her not to scream, or he will kill her. She was taken to a house at Chancery Street where she was raped. A report was made to the Chaguanas CID and a party of officers led by Cpl Sallick and including PCs James and Corbett Davis carried out enquiries and arrested a 27-year old man . The victim was medically examined and treated.
