$30M cocaine found in Tobago
Pure cocaine with an estimated street value of $30 million was discovered by police in the Bacolet area, on the outskirts of Scarborough yesterday afternoon. Police said the cocaine was secured in rubber bags which were wet and covered with sand. A source told Newsday that the bags originated from the sea and had apparently been washed or brought ashore, with the cocaine intact. The find was made at about 2 pm but police declined to give the exact location, claiming “security considerations.” A senior officer would only say “in the Bacolet area.” The police team visiting the area included Insp Arthur, Ag Insp Hubert Sharpe, and detective PC Robley.
Investigations are continuing.
