Mom: I will get justice from the Almighty
Molly Neptune pointed her hands to the heavens and declared that although she did not get justice from the courts, she is sure that she will get her satisfaction from the Almighty. Neptune, mother of Diego Martin teenager Aneisha Neptune, who was shot and killed by Special Reserve Police Officer Nicholas Leith, expressed surprise at the decision by Justice Carlton Best to uphold a no-case submission in the matter and rule in favour of SRP Leith.
Clutching her bosom, the grieving woman said that her daughter is dead and her killer has been allowed to walk free. “Where is the justice in this land,” said an angry Molly, while being interviewed by Newsday outside her Four Roads, Diego Martin home. She said that as far as she is concerned, the law seems to be heavily in favour of protecting the lawless and police officers who committ serious offences. The disappointed woman revealed that life will not be the same without Aneisha.
She was hoping to return to her Diego Martin home yesterday with a smile on her face, but instead she walked slowly up the steep hills to her home a sad and angry woman. She said that she was too distraught to say anything more on the matter and was leaving it in the hands of God. Aneisha Neptune was shot dead outside the Four Roads Police Station on May 1, 2000.
