Nurses must improve for better wages

THE EDITOR: I am not very observant but I have noticed lately that police officers are very present on the roads of Trinidad and Tobago. I may be so bold as to suggest that they are working harder because they have been afforded a bigger salary. The suggestion may be the same for the prison officers. My question, if there is anyone out there willing to answer is: Why is taxpayers’ money paying 25 percent to nurses? They haven’t improved to the tune of 25 percent in anyway. As a matter of fact I think most of them have gotten worse. Many of them get to work late.

The ones who may get to work early would very often have to change into uniform, eat breakfast, or old talk with other members of staff before starting to deal with the public which would often result in a late start to providing service to the clients who need their attention. A great number of them are still in dire need of customer service skills so I need not say that they are very hoggish add that to the fact that they would sometimes come to work with their problems and take it out on the clients at the health facility where they may work. I am humbly asking that some tell me why my tax dollar is being accumulated to give them extra money?
