$60,000 in flour disappears from Angostura

BETWEEN last Friday and Monday, $60,000 worth of flour left in a container parked at the Angostura Distilleries compound on Eastern Main Road, Laventille, has disappeared. According to reports, the container, owned by Chelendra Harnam of Market Street, St Joseph, was parked on the compound around 4.30 pm last Friday and left with a full load of flour. The owner returned at around 8 am on Monday and, on inspection, discovered the flour missing. A report was made to the Morvant Police Station. Police confirmed that while a report was made, they have very few facts, have only just begun investigations and have no evidence to date. Security officials at the compound refused to comment.
