Family in court for ammo, fake money

THREE members of a Claxton Bay family appeared in court yesterday for possession of several rounds of ammunition and false currency. Joy Felix, 29, her husband Dawson Felix, 32, and his mother Dolly Narinehey, 66, appeared before acting deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington in the San Fernando First Court where Cpl Wendell Fernando was court’s prosecutor. The charges were laid by PC Alexander of Central Division. The trio was arrested Wednesday morning at their Soledad Road, Claxton Bay, home, where police allegedly found 50 rounds of  nine-millimetre calibre ammunition along with a quantity of false currency, including 31 $100 notes, a US$100 bill and five US$20 bills. The police exercise was led by Insp Burt Raphael and included Sgt Sylvester and Ag Sgt Ajith Persad along with Ag Cpl Williams, Constables Alexander, Ali and Toolaram. The three, who were represented by attorney George Ojar, were each granted $75,000 bail and the matter was adjourned to May 25.
