President Max urges Baptists to help youths
PRESIDENT George Maxwell Richards has said that the breakdown in behaviour in the country is a cause of concern for all faiths, and urged the Spiritual Baptist community to reinforce its work among young people. In his address in observance of today’s Spiritual Shouter Baptist Liberation holiday, President Richards pleaded for Baptists not to “leave no stone unturned in instilling in them (youths) a sense of purpose and caring for their peers, their parents, and the elderly”.
“Challenge the young to embrace education and self-improvement and most important of all, tolerance in thought, word and deed,” he said, adding that he found “particularly troubling that the lack of empathy and consideration manifest themselves in nearly every facet of our lives”. President Richards said he was advised that membership in the Baptist faith continues to grow. He said he was pleased that the spreading of the Gospel continues to be central in the mission of the Baptists.
