Cops nab four suspects minutes after robbery
FOUR MEN who robbed a clothing store in Enterprise Village, Chaguanas, were arrested just minutes after the robbery. The stolen items were recovered. According to police reports, at around 2.45 pm on Saturday, Fiona Martin was at The Prize Clothing Company when four men armed with knives and cutlasses, entered the store and announced a hold-up. They removed more than $100,000 worth of clothing from the store.
A report was made to the Chaguanas CID and officers led by Inspector Burt Raphael, Ag Sgt Ajith Persad and including Cpl Villafana, PCs Alexander and Pierre responded. They went to Crown Trace, Enterprise, where they intercepted two vehicles and arrested four suspects. They were pointed out by Martin as the men who robbed the store. Shortly after, two patrons of a bar who were held up and robbed on Saturday night also pointed out the suspects as the persons who held up Midnite Bar at Endeavour. Eight persons were robbed during that hold up. Police believe with the arrest of the four men they will be able to solve a series of robberies at bars in the Central Division.
