Couva groups in need of $400,000
GOVERNMENT has donated a dilapidated building along Campden Road, Couva, for use by three organisations — the Couva Lions Club, Couva Police Youth Club and the Couva Scouts Council. The building is an old Govern-ment quarters that is in a serious state of disrepair. When the groups applied for the building, the Government announced that it was willing to lease the structure to the three organisations.
Repairs to the structure are estimated to cost approximately $400,-000, according to chairman of the groups, Owen Clifton. “Our approach is to involve all the plants at the Pt Lisas Industrial Estate and so far our first response is from Phoenix Park Gas Processors, who donated $3,000. We thank them sincerely for their contribution and for the fact that it will open the doorway to the future.”
