UWI students come out for job fairs

Scores of UWI final year students came out to participate in the Recruitment Fairs hosted by the University of the West Indies, the Alumni Association (TT Chapter) and Republic Bank on April 1 and 2. Held at the St Augustine campus, the Fairs concluded the final phase of the World of Work programme which focused on preparing final year students to make successful transitions to the workplace, and on emphasising the link between personal development and the work environment of the 21st century.

Representatives from various organisations, including Republic Bank, Petrotrin, TSTT, Angostura, CLICO and Caribbean Money Market Brokers (CMMB) participated in the Fairs, searching for bright, young employees with the goal of enhancing their human resource base. Interviews were conducted with over 300 candidates. Every year, the recruitment Fairs also enable first and second year students to obtain vacation employment, as well as the opportunity to network with the senior management of companies.
