Baptist blessings for Lara

MEMBERS of the Judah Spiritual Baptist Church of Waterhole, Cocorite, have congratulated West Indies cricket captain Brian Charles Lara on his record-breaking performance. Speaking on behalf of church members, Archbishop Monica Ramdoo sent the following message to Lara: “You have made us proud. Your Herculean prowess with the bat has once again united, not only the people of Trinidad and Tobago and the West Indies but by extension the cricket lovers the world over.

“Congratulations also to Ridley Jacobs for his splendid assistance. His 107 not out ensured that you were comfortable at the other end to go on and post that new score of 400 runs not out for other possible record-breakers to aspire unto. “May God continue to richly bless you and may this nation continue that feeling of Oneness brought about by your record breaking achievement.”
