Judge dismisses judicial review application by Int’l Call Centres
Justice Gregory Smith yesterday refused an application for judicial review by a 35-member consortium of International Call Centres. The call centres were seeking judicial review against a decision by the Regulated Industries Commission (RIC) to have them obtain licences to operate, or that they shutdown. He also ordered the consortium of some 35 centres to pay costs. The call centres’ application was filed by attorney Kulraj Kanta, while attorney Andre des Vignes appeared for the RIC. In dismissing the application the judge indicated that the grounds on which the application was filed needed to be clarified properly in order to clearly state their objections.
