Security guard pleads guilty to laptops theft
The security officer charged with the larceny of two laptop computers from the office of Public Administration Minister Lenny Saith, yesterday pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before a Port-of-Spain magistrate. He was remanded in custody and will re-appear in court today for sentencing.
Kevin Small, of Tunapuna appeared before Magistrate Marcia Murray at the Port-of-Spain Fifth Magistrates’ Court. The court heard that 25-year-old Small, an employee of Phoenix Security Services, unlawfully removed the computers from the St Vincent Street office on Monday evening. The computers were each valued at $15,000. He was charged by Sgt Jawahir of the Port-of-Spain CID.
