Bandits rob ice-cream shop

Two armed bandits stormed into the Dairy Bar ice cream parlour at Main Road, Montrose, around 1.15 pm yesterday and staged a daring robbery. Reports revealed that cashier Yvonne Smith was held up at gunpoint and ordered to hand over cash. The bandits emptied the cash register which contained $3,400, before robbing Smith of jewelry valued at $2,000. The bandits escaped on foot. Ag Sgt Ajith Persad, Cpl Balchan Salick, and PC Kirk Sheppard visited the scene and are investigating.
