Virgin celebrates first year in Tobago
TOMORROW will be the anniversary of Virgin Atlantic’s first flight to Tobago. The award-winning airline has so far brought 10,201 passengers to the island while sister company Virgin Holidays has supported the service by promoting their packages to Tobago, accounting for some 60 percent of these visitors.
Judith Wilcox, regional manager for the Caribbean, said: “Tobago has proved to be a popular destination for the British visitor and the route is doing well with some strong load factors. This gives us the confidence we need to increase airlift from the UK and offer a second service from Spring 2005.” The new Thursday service to Tobago is expected to have a further positive effect on the island’s tourism industry and economy and provide an additional 11,000 seats per annum into the island.
