Foreign Affairs duo on cocaine charges granted $.2M bail

TWO MEN charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking were on Monday each granted bail in the sum of $100,000 when they appeared before a Port-of-Spain magistrate. They were also ordered to surrender their passports to the court.

Micah Smith, of Laventille Extension Road in Morvant, and Kurt Alexis of Forest Avenue in  Cocoyea, San Fernando, appeared before Senior Magistrate Jo-Anne Connor at the City Magistrates’ Four A Court, each charged with possession of over two kilos of cocaine for trafficking. The men were arrested on Friday at 1 Queen’s Park West, Port-of-Spain, by Insp Alexis of the Organised Crime and Narcotics Unit. They will re-appear in court on May 20.
