PM praises Bible Institute

PRIME MINISTER Patrick Manning yesterday congratulated the Baptist Community on the acquisition of some 27 acres of land in Central Trinidad, which will be used to construct their first Bible Institute valued at over TT $6 million. In his address at the sod turning ceremony, at the site for the Baptist Seminary at Salvador Estate, Gran Couva, Manning pointed out that one of the real problems facing the construction industry in Trinidad and Tobago, was the lack of sensitivity to the legacy of the country’s architecture.

Quoting from the Holy Bible and citing the reigns of King David and King Solomon, who utilised real architectural skills in constructing their edifices, Manning said “we are tearing down our old buildings as fast as possible, so that the next generation will hardly be able to find a ginger bread house.”
