Petulant behaviour, Mr Manning
THE EDITOR: It is with alarm that I looked on at the display of petulant behaviour displayed by Mr Manning during his personal attack on Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar recently. This was not the normal “across the floor” picong, and therefore is very disturbing. This performance by Mr Manning after the debate which was aired on the television for all to see, confirms in my mind, and those of many others who I have spoken to (including I might add, die hard PNM supporters) that the Prime Minister should not have appointed his wife as a Minister in the government, because clearly he is unable to keep his personal emotions in check under the slightest criticsm of this ministry.
Mr Manning is indicating daily that anyone who is not for him is therefore against him, consequently deemed to be the enemy and destined to feel the wrath of his power and vengeance. A frightening thought indeed. In a democracy, all citizens should be allowed (as in the past) to voice their preferences for government and leaders, and should not live in fear of being persecuted if they do not share the viewpoint of, or support the Prime Minister. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my opinion without fear, through your newspaper.
