New execs @ Banking Institute

Lawrence Anthony Aqui, General Manager, Scotia Bank Branch Banking was elected President of the Institute of Banking and Finance of Trinidad and Tobago, following the 17th annual general meeting. Aqui is a career banker who has given thirty years of distinguished service to the Bank of Nova Scotia at an international and local level. An acknowledged leader and team motivator, Aqui has held the position of Scotiabank’s Master Leader Coach for the Caribbean and Central American Region in sales and performance management. Aqui is joined at the helm by Joann Gomes, General Manager Group Business Services, RBTT. Elected as IBAF’s Vice President, Gomes holds an EMBA and has commanded various senior managerial positions at RBTT, including General Manager, Business Improvement and Operations.
