‘A’ Level results out August 19

Results of Cambridge Advanced Level examinations will be released by the Education Ministry on August 19. But results of Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exam (CAPE) were still being analysed yesterday, and the ministry could not say who was the top student. Nineteen secondary schools plus the Centre for Learning, University of the West Indies, and 771 students took part in CAPE, held this year for the first time in TT. The CAPE schools are: San Fernando Government Secondary, St Joseph Convent, San Fernando, Holy Faith Convent, Penal; Barrackpore Senior Comprehensive, Fyzabad Anglican Secondary, Woodbrook Government Secondary, Tranquillity Government Secondary and St Mary’s College. Other schools are: Queen’s Royal College, North Gate College, St Augustine Senior Comprehensive, Holy Cross College, Lakshmi Girls’ Hindu, Bishop’s High School, Signal Hill Senior Comprehensive, Holy Faith Convent, Couva; Tabaquite Composite, Toco Composite and Vessigny Government Secondary. The Education Ministry stated all secondary schools will be required to do five CAPE subjects next year. The Cambridge exam will be phased out by September 2008.
