Vision 2020 talks in Malabar

PUBLIC SESSIONS on Vision 2020 will continue from tomorrow at venues throughout the country. There will be nine special interest group discussions. The first took place on September 6, and was aimed at religious groups. The public participatory process will lead to formulation of a national strategic development plan for achieving developed country status by 2020, and provides an opportunity for all sectors to contribute to the improvement of life in TT.

The first Vision 2020 community meeting in Trinidad will take place at the Malabar Community Centre on Subero Street, Arima, next Friday, starting at 5 pm. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), on behalf of the Ministry of Planning and Development, has contracted the services of Kairi Consultants to design, manage and implement the broader-based public participatory process. A total of 49 consultative sessions comprising 19 at the regional level, 20 within communities and ten focused on special interest groups, will be held throughout the country.
