Chaguanas cops arrest another student
A 16-year-old student of the Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive School was arrested yesterday and charged with trafficking in marijuana. Reports revealed that around 2 pm, teacher Lazina Diaz saw a student smoking an unusual cigarette while seated in a Form Four classroom. Diaz seized the cigarette and alerted Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department. A party of officers led by acting Sgt Ajith Persad, and including WPC Glenda Corbette Davis and Kissoon Lall, went to the school and detained the student. He was charged late yesterday and will appear before a Chaguanas magistrate today.
He is the third student to be arrested by Chaguanas police between Monday and yesterday. On Monday, an ASJA College student was held with marijuana hidden in his socks. He was charged with trafficking in marijuana, but was reprimanded and discharged when he appeared before a Chaguanas magistrate. On Wednesday, a 16-year-old student of the Carapichaima Senior Comprehensive School was arrested and charged with robbing another student of a gold chain and pendant.
