Whisky lover falls for tea trick
A MAN thought he had chanced upon a bargain when he purchased a bottle of Black Label Scotch Whisky from three well-dressed men in Woodford Square, Port of Spain, yesterday. However, what he thought to be expensive whisky turned out to be tea. The man, who wanted to remain anonymous said the three young “salesmen” were selling various items including radios, shavers, and bottles of whisky.
They offered him a special price of $120 for one bottle and the second for $40. If he wanted only one bottle, it would cost $70. The man said he bought the $70 bottle. Later on, when he tried to break the seal, he realised it was not perforated. He tried to open it with his teeth, but was only able to bore a hole in the cap. When he tasted it, he was shocked that it was green tea.
