Two held with $1.6M worth of cocaine
A 41-year-old resident of Bayshore, Westmoorings, reportedly with a Colombian connection, and another 41-year-old man from Laventille were last evening held with 4 kilos of raw cocaine with a street value of $1.6 million. The men were held when the car in which they were travelling was intercepted at Cocorite by police officers of the Firearm Interdiction Unit, headed by Errol Dillon, and including ASP Chandraband Maharaj, and PCs Daniel and Simon. Police reported that the cocaine was found in the car along with several Trinidad and Tobago ID cards and passports. The Immigration Department and Fraud Squad have since been called in. The men will appear in the Port-of-Spain Narcotics Court today.
