Innovative Atlantic takes BG award

Atlantic LNG has won the BG Chief Executive Innovation Awards 2004 for its innovative approach to the turbine engine. Atlantic beat out finalists KPO and BG Tunisia and BG Advance to win in the Enhanced Working Practice category for its turbine modular maintenance concept. Establishment of the modular approach to gas turbine maintenance has increased efficiency and productivity by reducing major inspection time from 29 to 14 days.

The concept is also being enhanced by the maintenance team to reduce the time from 14 to 12 days. The BG Chief Executive’s Innovation Award is an annual scheme that recognises and rewards assets within the BG group for innovative approaches for managing operations, whether commercially, technologically, or through creative marketing, people management and new business products. BG is a 26 percent shareholder of Atlantic LNG.
