Teen gunned down in revenge hit

A teenager of Clifton Street, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain, was shot dead Monday night in what police believe was was an act of revenge. Casey Marsall, 18, was shot in his chest as he walked among the Spree Simon Flats at St Paul Street, Port-of-Spain. According to reports,  residents of the area heard two loud explosions around 8.30 pm, and contacted the police. Two officers who were patrolling nearby responded and found Marsall’s body in a pool of blood with a gaping wound in his chest.

He was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Autopsy results confirmed he died from haemorrhaging consistent with a gun shot wound. When Newsday visited the teen’s East Dry River home, relatives refused to talk. However, police confirmed that Marsall had several charges and pending matters for robberies,   and he was also a main suspect in the murder of another resident of the area. Cpl Mercer of the Besson Street Police Station is investigating.
