88 arrested in police raid
Eighty-eight persons were arrested yesterday in a joint police/Licensing Office exercise conducted in the Sea Lots area on the Beetham Highway near the WASA offices. Two were held for possession of six kegs of bush rum; one female, 22, of Nelson Street Port-of-Spain for an undisclosed quantity of cocaine; three with possible stolen vehicles, two with unregistered vehicles, and others on outstanding warrants. Thirty-five were ordered to pull the tint off their cars.
The exercise, headed by DCP Oswyn Allard, coordinated by ASP Sealy and carried out by acting Insp Singh, started at 2.30 pm and ended at 5.25 pm. Also in the exercise were members of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Guard and Emergency Branch, the Crime Records Office, the Special Anti Crime Unit of TT and the Criminal Investigations Department.
