Wong gets more space at Republic

An employee with 26 years service at Republic Bank has been appointed Regional Manager East, Central and Tobago, Commercial and Retail Banking at Republic Bank’s Head Office. Anthony Wong is now responsible for the performance of the 18 branches of the region. During his tenure at the bank, Wong has gained a knowledge and understanding of retail banking and operations and acquired expertise in all functional areas of the credit card business. Wong was instrumental in the establishment and implementation of the Bank’s Credit Card Centre’s operations in 1990.


He was previously Assistant General Manager, Card Business, where he was responsible for the strategic development and growth of the card business for Republic Bank. Wong holds his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management, a Diploma in Management two Diplomas from the American Bankers Association (ABA) School of Bankcard Management. He is also the second vice president of the Trinidad Hotels, Restaurants and Tourism Association (THRTA) and also a past captain of the Republic Bank’s Sports Club cricket team.
