Man charged with grievous bodily harm

RYAN Mohammed, 24, of Macaulay Trace, Claxton Bay was yesterday granted $50,000 bail. He is charged with causing grievous bodily harm. Unaware that the alleged victim in the matter, Hansraj Vernon, 31, also of Macaulay, was seated in the court, Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington consulted with court prosecutor acting Sgt Harricharan Kassie as to Vernon’s condition and whereabouts. The magistrate then asked the whereabouts of mohammed’s lawyer  — Samuel Shury — who at the same time came hustling into the courtroom. Vernon sporting a heavy bandage to his left arm also stood before the court. Mohammed was charged with chopping Vernon on Saturday.
