Tenth annual awards at City Hall on Wednesday

As part of the ongoing efforts of the National Youth Action Committee (NYAC) along with the National Organisation of Dedicated Students (NODS) towards the total development of young people in the nation, the groups will be hosting their tenth annual Top 20 Stars of Tomorrow Awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 24 at City Hall, Knox Street, Port-of-Spain. The feature address will be delivered by President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Professor George Maxwell Richards. Described as one of the premiere events that showcases both the talent and positive achievements of our young people in Trinidad and Tobago, the top 20 songs and their singers will be specially awarded. Awards will also be presented for performances of excellence in various activities and disciplines, including sport, academics, hospitality, culture, environmental awareness, community service, the arts and more.


The artistes and their compositions are as follows: Alicia Massy (The Same Thing), Christian Thomas (Battle Zone), Corey Burke (Soca Tracks), Duane O’Connor (Status), Jamal George (Time to Bond), Jervae Caesar (When Darkness Falls), Karene Asche (A Friendly Society), Kirt Ross (Bad Boys), Luke Samerson (Look Around), Marcel Bennett (I Apologise), Marion Paponette (A Mother’s Love), Monique Hector (Useless Truce), Nesta Boxhill (Check Yuhself), Orlando Octave (Proud of Rude Boy), Patrice Valentine (Race Talk), Roderick Gordon (Stop the Stereotyping), Rondell Donowa (Choices), Shereen Caesar (Lost Ones), Sheyenne Hazell (New Mall), Shinesse Simmons (Candles) and Wendy Thomas (The Land, Our Legacy). Also among the awardees are Olympic Bronze Medallist George Bovell, Nicola Dalrymple (Ms Teen International), Maxlon Roberts (Community Sevice) and Candace Scott and Cleopatra Borel for the Olympic Hammer throw and Shot-put, respectively.
