Two cops testify in Aleong’s murder
Two police officers were among five persons giving evidence yesterday at the resumption of the Christopher Aleong murder inquiry. Taking the stand yesterday were officers Trevor Peters and Sgt Samuel Seepersad. On trial for the murder is Rudy Nelson who was arrested by Sgt Stephen Ramsubhag following extensive investigations into the murder of the 68-year-old businessman. The trial is being presided by Chief magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls in the Port-of-Spain Eighth court. Aleong, the brother of former BWIA CEO Conrad Aleong, and Magistrate Sonia Aleong, was shot dead while driving his car out of his Petit Valley home on December 2, 2003. Representing Nelson at the trial is attorney Peter Taylor while attorney Candia James is representing the State. Hearing resumes today.
